Today, we prepared Venetian dishes and one of my favorite desserts to order in italian restaurants - TIRAMISU!
My mom was quite thrilled when I told her I am coming home with a homemade tiramisu recipe that I will gladly make for our family over Christmas :)
Many of the main courses today consisted of lots of onions, olive oil and fish.
On Today’s menu:
1. Baccala Mantecato
A traditional recipe including fresh cod or stock fish, Italian olive oil, garlic and Italian parsley.
A slow cooked dish with many variations and it can include/or not include milk, celery, potatoes, cod, etc.
This dish reminded me of risotto and was infused with a delicious white wine and a green broth made from the peas.
Tiramisu means “Pull me up.” It was invented in the Veneto Town of Treviso and it always pleases its guests. (That’s a true statement!)
