My friend Q is quite the chef and after finding out he had cooked dinner for others in the USAC group I knew I somehow had to make a reservation. My roommate Keeghan and friend Austin accompanied Q to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients and some drinks for the evening. Since Q was the chef, everyone split the cost of the groceries with dinner costing around 6.50 Euros each. Talk about a deal for all the food we ate!
Q treated us to a night of Southern Comfort Food. The original creations that he decided to whip up for us last night included: "Q's Fried Chicken & Q's Homemade Bacon Mac and Cheese."
Both were absolutely delicious and I had never felt so full since being here in Italy! I definitely felt like I was back home, but it was even better to share this experience here in Italy with my friends I've made while studying abroad!
While Q cooked we sang, played music and learned about one another's favorite genres of music.
While we ate we went around the table and first had to say something that the others didn't already know about us. The second round we had to tell embarrassing stories.
The night was full of serious moments, lots of laughter and bellies full of delicious homemade cooking.
Nights like this I will never forget and I can't wait for my next homemade meal with the friends I call family.
