2014 marks my second year celebrating Thanksgiving in Italy!
Last year I celebrated Thanksgiving in Rome with my roommate Katelyn, and her mom, because I was fortunate enough to visit her while she studied abroad in Viterbo.
This year rather than taking the train to Rome to find a restaurant serving Thanksgiving food, I stayed in Viterbo and enjoyed a home-cooked American Thanksgiving feast with many of my friends from the program!
- TURKEY (so grateful my friends were able to find one!)
- sweet potatoes
- deviled eggs
- garlic bread and lots of vino (after all, this is Italy!)
- more pies than you can imagine (including apple and pumpkin)
It was great because some of our Italian friends came over to celebrate this popular American holiday with us and they enjoyed all the food as much as we did!
I'm very grateful to be studying abroad and living in Viterbo, Italy and for all the friends I've made during this amazing journey.
I may not have been able to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family back home in America, for the second year in a row, but I'm thankful to have spent Thanksgiving dinner with my some of my study abroad family.
